By The Way

BTW: I finished graduate school. Soon I will have a master's in publishing. What to do with it? I don't know.

Time to enter the real world. The job hunt. Here we go.

Fabulous Finds

Today I went Christmas shopping and ended up buying even more for myself.

The main reason I love Marshall's (and T.J. Maxx) is the prices...and the selection. It's like a scavenger hunt. It's thrift store prices without the old mothball smell.

And when I find something great, it excites me. So today, besides a cozy long sleeve organic cotton tee for $9.99 and a great printed jersey dress for $10 (didn't try it on though, hope it fits), I got some really great finds, all for under $3!:

A Jean Paul Gaultier Prêt-à-Porter 2009 Limited Edition Evian bottle: $1.99

I saw this and thought neat! I didn't know that this thing sells for $13.95 online, and don't ask me who would pay that much for a special water bottle. But it is a perfectly fun, unique decoration for a fashionista like myself.

A great indigo ribbon headband: 99 cents

Perfect size bow- small but visible. And the color is not bright, but still draws attention.

A sheer green and blue plaid button-up ruffled blouse with a smocked waist: $2.50

Sure it's polyester and a shirt still on clearance from summer, but it's adorable and the colors are perfect to layer over a black turtleneck or under a bright-colored cashmere cami. Adorable.

So, have you found any good deals lately?

Fabulous Find?

Today I was sold a dress at BCBG that looked totally great on.

Except it was a size too small and I now need to lose 5 pounds to wear it without fear of ripping.

Except it was on sale and is not returnable.

Except it has a rip at the zipper I need to fix somehow.

All because it looked great once the saleswomen squeezed me into it, and it was 70% off. Did I make a horrible mistake? Will getting me into this thing be like some movie scene of a woman being laced into a corset? Stay tuned.

A Crack In The Ice

Hi. My name is Florentine and I'm a 23 year blonde living in New Jersey.

I will be done with grad school in about...oh one day and done with my part-time job (paid internship, whatever) at Shape magazine next week, then I'm off to find a job...aka have a vacation. I went to school in New York City and recently moved back home, where I am content...for the time being...until of course I move back to the big apple, which will hopefully be sometime soon.

This blog is about my treasure hunt, and it sure will be an adventure. It's about fashion, affordable fashion and my quest to find amazing things at a great price.

For now, though, it's time to go brave the mall with my brother. It's a week till Christmas. Talk about treacherous...
