OK...so it's been a really long time, 3 months actually, since I've posted. The new job has kept me busy, but I'm back...excited?
I've found quite some fun things over the past few months, let me share my favorites:
First, Lars got a new collar at Marshall's. It has Swarovski elements and is made of blue leather. So cute, and for $11 (now only $10 in stores!) it's great. And Lars is as adorable as ever!
As far as clothes (all from Marshalls'). This great Kenar top was on clearance for $10 and it's light pink cotton with beading at the neckline and sleeves. It got it in large to wear with leggings, I'm in love. Then I found this great printed, 1-sleeved dress for $14.99. I think I'll wear this out tonight. Oh and I can't forget these Steve Madden wedges. I have worn them so much this summer- they are so comfortable. And they're on sale now: check your local Marshall's!!!
I also found this great wool cloche (a bucket-y hat) with a rosette. Usually these are too big for my head and fall too far over my eyes, but this one fits just perfectly, for only $7.50! Get yours here!
I also found an amazing headband with black tulle, bows and small feathers for only $6.80. My plan is to wear it in Atlantic City...if I have the guts to pull it off. We'll just have to see.
As far as yard sales, haven't been to too many this summer. But, I did get an exercise bike off Craigslist for only $75 and it's in great shape! And they were even nice enough to bring it to my house (we were in the same town) in their truck. It's great and I've used it a lot already. I just turn on Netflix, get on the bike, and an hour later I'm sweating and burned off 300 calories all while enjoying a movie (or Xena reruns haha). It's perfect!
So you may be wondering: when is she ever going to publish her guide? Well...NOW (look at the post above). :)

Fabulous Finds
After spending the day with my little brother, his last day before going back to college, and trying Chipotle for the first time, amazing!, I went to one of my favorite places: Marshall's.
Somehow I always find what I am looking for there. At one point yesterday I was in search of something to wear to my friend's brother's "Jersey Shore" party next weekend. Ed Hardy shirts were way too expensive. $90 for a t-shirt? I don't think so. So I ended up getting a great, shirt at Macy's for $25, which my brother said "is the money," so I was happy.
But later, at Marshall's, I saw not only an Ed Hardy shirt but all these Ed Hardy belts. The shirt was not nice, but the belts were awesome. Too bad they were still $30 , so I had to opt out. But, the fact that I could find it there only reaffirms my faith in the store, they have been getting in more and more designer options.
I also found these amazing bootie-esque shoes! They are black suede Steve Madden shoes with gold studs for only $40 and the peep-toe and open heel are to die for, and totally in. If you don't believe me, check out the February Vogue.
The only problem? I might have to return them as I am still job hunting and have no cash...hopefully I will decide to keep, I am leaning toward keep, they're just so great, right?!
This amazing black nylon DKNY swing jacket for only $15. It will go perfect with a skirt and blouse for my hopefully coming soon job interviews. Plus since it's nylon and has 3/4 sleeves, it will work great in summer too!
Next find: this adorable gray skirt. Sure it's polyester, but it was only $7 and looks great on, since it has a fun pattern and sits at the waist with a bubble shape: perfect for short people like me with bigger hips and small waists. Really makes you look tiny.
Last, but not least is this precious shallow Peter Rabbit bowl for $3. I bought it for my kitten, Lars, as a food dish. It's a bit large, maybe 6 inches in diameter, but it fits him perfectly. Peter Rabbit was a little rascal who never listened, same as my Lars.
Well that was the most recent trip. Other than that, there has not been too much shopping going on for me. I'm still looking for a job in this economically-challenged current world and so I am keeping my fingers crossed that soon I will be able to hunt for something other than employment, and thus share more.
Keep finding those bargains!

Fabulous Finds
This fabulous find is one that I plan to cherish for many years to come. It will be a companion to me during tough times and is fun to play with.
My find? A clearance kitty! Welcome...Lars.

He is adorable isn't he...he naps a lot.
The shelter in my area had a "Home for the Holidays" event and all cats under five-years-old were $50 (that's half price) and all over five-years-old were free. Lars is my little black, halloweeny, boy. And at 3 1/2 months he's just a baby!
He is friendly and loves to play with his feather toy- best investment ever.

However, having a kitten is quite pricey as I soon found out. Word to the wise: do not buy food and litter and such at a large pet store like PetCo. Expensive. Though they did give me 10% off for just having adopted Lars.
I will have to search TJ Maxx and Marshalls for sufficiently adorable and affordable food bowls for him as well as toys.
His trip to the vet was also emptying my wallet. It's $45 for a check-up and then another $30 for his medications since he needed medicine and eye drops for his conjunctivitis and possible upper respiratory cold. Poor thing. On top of that, he has a slight heart murmur, but the vet said hopefully it will go away. Otherwise I should probably get pet insurance if he needs lots of treatment or tests for it.
Does anyone have any experience or advice on good, but affordable pet insurance?
